Audit of six years’ spending cuts and tax increases

The Court of Audit published an audit report on 3 October 2016 on all the packages of measures that successive governments have introduced in the Netherlands since 2011 in order to put public finances in order in the aftermath of the credit crisis. It follows on from the Budget Monitor introduced in 2011 and the various audits of individual government economy measures carried out in recent years.

A database used in the audit contains and analyses more than 500 measures announced by the government. The information is available as open data on The measures include spending cuts and tax increases, but also spending increases (additional funding) and tax cuts introduced for individuals and companies in recent years.
