Second Court of Audit webinar: Tips to improve grant evaluations
Municipalities and provinces award grants for a wide variety of purposes, such as the restoration of monuments, cultural activities, art education and activities that improve the wellbeing of certain groups of residents. But it is often unknown whether the grants are actually effective.
The Court of Audit, the Randstad Audit Office and the Nijmegen Audit Office will be hosting a webinar from 15.00 to 16.00 on Thursday 13 March 2014 on how grants can be better evaluated as to their effectiveness. The online seminar will offer local audit offices tips on how to encourage their municipalities and provinces to improve their grant evaluations and tips on how they can carry out their own evaluations. The webinar will consider:
- what is meant by grant effectiveness;
- the standards audit offices apply to evaluate the effectiveness of grants;
- lessons learned from recent audits of grant evaluations;
- an action plan to improve the evaluation of grant effectiveness.
Who can take part in the webinar?
The webinar is intended for the staff of local audit offices and audit committees. Municipal and provincial policy officers are also invited to take part in the webinar. Participation is free of charge.
The speakers during the webinar will be Gerth Molenaar (Randstad Audit Office), Jelly Smink (Nijmegen Audit Office) and Nynke de Witte (Court of Audit). Please feel free to ask them any questions you may have.
