Further improvement in SHO's accounts of Haiti aid donations
Aid organisations making slow progress in Haiti, some projects delayed
The public accounts of the use of donations to the Giro 555 emergency aid fund have improved further. The Cooperating Aid Agencies (SHO) are more transparent about how they spend the money provided by Dutch donors. In 2011 the donations were spent on housing, latrines, schools, health care and micro-credits. The findings are presented in the report, Accounting for Haiti aid donations 2011, which will be published on 1 November 2012.
