New Board member appointed to the Netherlands Court of Audit
The Dutch cabinet adopted the House of Representatives' nomination of Arno Visser (46) as a member of the Board of the Netherlands Court of Audit on 21 December 2012.
The government and the House acted in accordance with the Court's recommendation. A.P. Visser was sworn in by the Queen on 15 January 2013. He succeeds Gerrit de Jong, who retired on 1 December 2012.
With the appointment, the Board, which manages this High Council of State, is complete again. The Board is also made up of the President, Saskia J. Stuiveling, and Board member Kees Vendrik. Before his appointment, Arno Visser was a portfolio holder on the municipal executive of Almere. Between 2003 and 2006 he was a member of parliament for the VVD liberal party. Visser studied theoretical and comparative literature and previously worked as a consultant, press officer for the VVD parliamentary party and political adviser to the Minister of the Interior.
Arno Visser commenced his duties at the Court of Audit in early 2013.
