Court of Audit opens doors for Constitution Festival!

The Dutch Constitution will be precisely 200 years old on Saturday 29 March 2014. To celebrate this festive occasion, the National Committee for the Bicentenary of the Kingdom is organising a Constitution Festival. It goes without saying that the Court of Audit will be taking part. Especially for the day, we will be opening the doors to our offices at Lange Voorhout 8 in The Hague.

What's going to happen?

A visit to our offices will be a journey through time. You can discover how we worked back in 1814 and how we work today in 2014. The programme includes:

  • a guided tour by staff of the Court of Audit;
  • a quiz about regularity and efficiency;
  • a photo exhibition, 'The people behind the Court of Audit';
  • an exciting treasure hunt for young visitors;
  • a copy of the General Ledger of the National Debt dating from 1814;
  • musical accompaniment by the clarinet quartet of the Military Music Force.

The Court of Audit and the Constitution

The Court of Audit's task is set out in article 76 of the Constitution. As a High Council of State, we are responsible for independently examining the State's revenues and expenditures. We audit their regularity, efficiency, effectiveness and integrity. You are welcome to come and find out more on 29 March 2014.
