Ministries reduce uncertainty about the budget for the Youth Act and the Social Support Act
Still uncertainty about the timely transfer of €90 million to the municipalities for youth care
Slowly but surely it is becoming clear precisely how much money Dutch municipalities will receive from the central government to implement the decentralised Youth Act and Social Support Act 2015 (WMO). In comparison with 2013, the number of uncertainties in the calculation of the budget has been reduced but some still remain.
The formula used to calculate the amount central government will allocate to the municipalities is extremely complex. At the request of the State Secretary for Health, Welfare and Sport, the State Secretary for Security and Justice and the Association of Netherlands Municipalities, the Court of Audit has audited the accuracy of the calculations. The Court had carried out a similar audit in respect of the Youth Act in 2013.
