EUROSAI Congress in The Hague, 16 - 19 June

To mark its bicentennial, the Netherlands Court of Audit will be chairing EUROSAI, the European Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions, on 16 June.

Forty-nine countries from throughout Europe will be represented, including the European Court of Auditors from Luxembourg. In the week of 16 - 19 June, The Hague will therefore be hosting the triennial EUROSAI Congress. Some 220 guests will be present.

The Congress will take innovation as its theme. Even august bodies like supreme audit institutions have to move with the times and use modern techniques such as open source software and open spending accounting. The Court of Audit will use the Congress to challenge its fellow SAIs to seek new working methods. It will do so through work sessions held by both the Court itself and its European guests. Topics for discussion will include:

  • Leadership in the information society: what will change?
  • Sustainability: how can audit institutions work to maximise their results?
  • Innovation in communication: what’s the best way to put your message across?
  • SAI audits during the financial crisis
