First comments on 2015 budget

In a letter to the House of Representatives of 19 September 2014, the Court of Audit made a number of comments on the Ministry of Finance’s 2015 budget, the National Debt and the Budget Memorandum.

The letter is the first in a series that the Court of Audit will send in the coming months. It will check the information in the 2015 budget, which the government submitted to the House on 16 September, against the undertakings the government gave in May 2014 when it accounted for the policy conducted in the previous year. A summary will also be provided of the follow-up to the Court’s pervious recommendations.

The letter of 19 September on the Ministry of Finance’s budget considers how the government informed the House of the results of the austerity measures taken, the insight available into the State’s exposure to financial risks, and public accountability for compliance with European agreements. It also announces that a letter will follow later in the year about the future of the audit profession in the public domain.

The letter is only in Dutch available.
