Renewal of electronic identification system does not yet satisfy all conditions
House of Representatives poorly positioned to assess government decisions on new identification system
The preparations for a new electronic identification system do not yet satisfy a number of important conditions. The House of Representatives is therefore in a poor position to determine whether the government is taking the right decisions to renew the current DigiD system. There are still uncertainties regarding the design and cost of the new system. The additional information the Minister of the Interior and Kingdom Relations sent to the House on 25 August only partially clarifies the situation.
