Court of Audit appoints Ellen Verolme as new director
The Netherlands Court of Audit has appointed Ellen Verolme as a director with effect from 1 January 2018. She currently holds the position of manager at the Dutch Safety Board.
Ms Verolme holds a doctorate in astronomy and has worked for the Dutch Safety Board since 2014. She has also worked for Rijkswaterstaat and TNO Defence & Security and has broad international experience in a NATO and EU context. Her portfolio as a director of the Court of Audit will cover the Ministry of Justice and Security, the Ministry of Defence and the DOEN programme for innovative research.
The appointment follows a selection procedure involving the Office for the Senior Civil Service (ABD) and is the outcome of a change process. The Court of Audit is taking measures to modernise and future-proof its organisation. We are reducing the number of management layers, creating more career progression opportunities based on the auditors’ professional know-how, and deploying our staff more flexibly. We are becoming an agile, professional and authoritative organisation. With the appointment of Ms Verolme, all vacancies on the Court of Audit’s Board have now been filled.
