Cornelis van der Werf sworn in as the Court of Audit’s new Secretary-General
Cornelis van der Werf was sworn in as the Netherlands Court of Audit’s new Secretary-General at an extraordinary Board meeting held on 4 December 2017. He was appointed by Royal Decree as of 1 December in succession to Ellen van Schoten, who left the Court of Audit on 1 October.
The Court of Audit’s Board is currently made up of Arno Visser (President), Francine Giskes (member) and Ewout Irrgang (member). The Secretary-General is the most senior member of staff and head of the management team at this High Council of State. Mr van der Werf graduated in economics and will hold the position temporarily until mid-2018. He has been employed by the Court of Audit as an audit director since October 2013. Before joining the Court, he was a consultant at PBLQ/HEC and director at the policy research consultancy, Research voor Beleid. Between 2004 and 2012, he chaired the audit office committee of Leiden municipality.
