Appointment of extraordinary Board member
The cabinet approved the appointment of Ms J.M.A. (Hanny) Kemna as extraordinary member of the Netherlands Court of Audit’s Board on 13 December 2019.
The appointment was proposed by the Minister of the Interior and Kingdom Relations. The House of Representatives had agreed on 26 November 2019 to a list of candidates put forward by the Court of Audit on 10 October 2019. Ms Kemna was the preferred candidate on the list.
Assisting the Board
Extraordinary Board members assist the Court of Audit’s Board on request. With the appointment of Ms Kemna, the Board now has three extraordinary members; the other two are Paul Doop and Mark van Twist. The Court’s Board is made up of its president, Arno Visser, and two ordinary members, Francine Giskes and Ewout Irrgang. Ms Kemna will commence her tasks at the Court of Audit, a High Council of State, after taking the oath or pledge before the King. The appointment takes effect on 1 January 2020.
Background in IT auditing
Hanny Kemna RE CISA IDP-C is an IT auditor by profession and a supervisory director of many organisation. She is president of the Supervisory Board of MN Services NV, vice-president of the Supervisory Board of Menzis NV and non-executive director of ASA International. Until 2014, she was a partner in EY, having become one of the first female partners in Ernst & Young Accountants in 1999. Hanny has a wealth of international experience and specialist knowledge in information and communication technology, finance, innovation and operational management in the public and regulated sectors.
