House of Representatives nominates Barbara Joziasse for appointment to the Netherlands Court of Audit’s Board
The House of Representatives agreed on the nomination of a new member of the Court of Audit’s Board on 22 September 2020. The list of three nominees is headed by Barbara Joziasse. The House has therefore followed the Court’s own recommendation to fill the vacancy that will arise when Francine Giskes steps down from the Board on 15 October.
Ms Joziasse is currently the Netherlands’ ambassador in Amman, Jordan. The other two candidates proposed by the House are Rianne Jacobs (professor at VU University Amsterdam) and Margreet de Boer (member of the Senate). The Minister of the Interior and Kingdom Relations will now submit a proposal to the cabinet to appoint a new Board member based on the House’s recommendation. The candidate will then be appointed to the Court’s Board by royal decree.
The Court of Audit’s Board consists of three person. In addition to Ms Giskes, its members are currently Arno Visser (president) and Ewout Irrgang.
