Agreements needed to monitor social outcomes of government policy
In a letter to parliament of 13 January 2022, the Court of Audit writes that the House of Representatives and the government should make further agreements on how the social outcomes of new government policy will be monitored.
The appointment of a new government is the most appropriate moment to agree what information is required and how it will be provided to parliament. The Court of Audit has concluded from many audits that without such agreements, it cannot be determined whether goals have been achieved. The coalition agreement of 14 December 2021 states that there must be a clearer distinction between the House and the government and the provision of information to parliament must be improved.
