Senators invited to the Netherlands Court of Audit
At the invitation of the Netherlands Court of Audit, a delegation of 20 members of the Dutch Senate made an introductory visit to the Court of Audit on Tuesday 26 September 2023.
The Senate’s President, Jan Anthonie Bruijn, and the other senators were welcomed by the Court’s President, Pieter Duisenberg, and its Board members, Barbara Joziasse and Ewout Irrgang. Of the new Senate installed in June, 39 of its 75 members had been elected for the first time.
The discussions considered, among other things, how High Councils of State could together improve the functioning of parliamentary democracy and strengthen citizens’ trust in public institutions and politics.
