Pieter Duisenberg
P.J. (Pieter) Duisenberg was appointed President of the Netherlands Court of Audit with effect from 1 September 2023. He had previously been president of the Association of Universities of the Netherlands and a member of the House of Representatives for the People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD).
Pieter Duisenberg studied Macro- and Monetary Economics at Erasmus University, Rotterdam, and is a registered controller. Pieter has held positions at Shell and McKinsey and was Finance and Risk Director at Eneco. He was elected to the House of Representatives for the VVD in 2012. In 2017 he was appointed president of the Association of Universities of the Netherlands (UNL).
Upon his appointment to the Court of Audit, Pieter was chair of the Supervisory Board of Gasunie N.V., member of the Supervisory Board and audit committee of the Netherlands School of Public Administration (NSOB) and member of the Supervisory Board and audit committee of Stadion Feyenoord N.V. Pieter stood down from these positions on his appointment as President of the Court of Audit.
